Sun-kissed skin saviours

Summer is around the corner. We've already had a few really hot days here in Durham, but not quite enough to do some serious tanning and I mean... Sun is a bit of a controversial subject and it's for a very good reason. I am a big advocate of ALWAYS wearing sunscreen, no matter the season or weather conditions. You gotta protect that young looking skin from the sun, yes, but it's not just about the looks, it's about your health. Skin cancer is too preventable to ignore it.

Wearing sunscreen is essential and while it may stand in the way of getting that perfect tan, we nowadays have so many alternatives we can use to obtain sun-kissed complexion. Here are two products from S&G that do just that.

S&G Solar Powder bronzer comes with a beautiful S&G logo on top of the product dusted with a holographic highlighter (a little wish of mine is to get my hands on an actual holographic highlighter, any recommendations?). Once the shimmer from the logo is gone, you get a beautiful, semi-matte bronzer in two shades to mix and match according to the areas of your face and your skin tone. As I've already noticed, S&G does a brilliant job in coming up with bronzer and contour shades that aren't orange.

I apply this product with a big, fluffy brush in the hollows of my cheeks, my jawline and the top of my forehead to create an illusion of natural tan and some serious cheekbones. It looks so natural (VERY important for me) and stays on - but let's be honest, all the S&G powder formula products do.

Now this one is a bit more of a spectacular product. Peach Party Blush Brick is what I wouldn't exactly call a blush, but rather an all-in-one skin beautifying product. As you can see, you've got a whole range of colours here - from a brown tone through peach and rosy pink to champagne.

This one is really glittery and delicate in terms of pigmentation. I apply it carefully to the tops of my cheeks - you don't need to use much, it will probably last me ages. It gives an amazing glow and looks so beautiful in the sunlight. The packaging of both products is as usual really handy and quite robust (and both products come with a mirror for on-the-go application). Tip: this one looks beautiful applied on your eyelids, it opens the eye and gives it a really pretty shimmer.

Both the bronzer and the blush took a permanent place in my summer make up routine. They are so easy to use and give my skin such a naturally looking glow that I don't really mind limiting my sunbaths this year.
